The Heart of the Community program (the “Program”) is sponsored by Tozer Heating & Air (“Sponsor”). Under this Program, Tozer Heating & Air will source “Equipment” from (1) Keeprite and (2) Wolseley HVAC and install a furnace system (the “Equipment”) to homeowners selected from nominations. These individuals must demonstrate both a positive impact in their community and a financial need for furnace replacement. The Sponsor will:
- Select the recipients (the “Recipients”)
- Provide and install the Equipment at no charge to the Recipients
Nomination Period:
Nominations will be accepted from 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time on September 24th until 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on October 20th (the “Nomination Period”). The Sponsor may extend this period at its discretion. During this time, anyone (the “Nominator”) can nominate an individual (the “Nominee”) by submitting their name, address, phone number, email address, current heating equipment and a brief statement explaining why they deserve the furnace replacement. Nominations can be made using the form on www.tozerheating.com/heart-of-the-community-giveaway. Each Nominator can only submit one nomination per Nominee, and Nominators cannot nominate themselves or anyone living in their household.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify, a Nominee must meet the following conditions:
- Be a permanent legal resident of Canada, residing in Ontario.
- Be the owner and occupant of a single-family home with a central heating system, excluding hydronic systems, wood stoves, oil systems, electric baseboard heaters, boilers, mobile homes, or prefabricated homes.
- Provide proof of homeownership.
- Not be an employee, officer, or director of Tozer Heating & Air, its affiliates, or its contractors, or an immediate family member of these individuals.
- Allow Tozer Heating & Air access to their residence to assess the need for furnace replacement and determine suitability for installation if selected.
Nomination Criteria:
Nominations must outline the Nominee’s positive contributions to their community, such as through their profession (e.g., teachers, veterans, first responders) or through acts of service, as well as their financial need. Financial need may include, but is not limited to:
- Unmanageable medical expenses
- Loss of income due to injury
- Dependency on government assistance programs
Recipient Availability:
If selected, the Nominee (or a designated representative) must be available for the installation during the specified installation period, November 5th-22nd (the “Install Period”). If the Nominee cannot be present, they must appoint a representative to be available. If extraordinary circumstances prevent the installation within the Install Period, an alternative date may be arranged at the Sponsor’s discretion. Otherwise, the Recipient may forfeit the Equipment.
Taxes & Financial Responsibility:
The Recipient is responsible for any applicable taxes or financial consequences related to the receipt and installation of the Equipment. No compensation or reimbursement will be provided by the Sponsor.
Agreement to Terms:
By submitting a nomination, both the Nominator and Nominee agree to these terms. If selected, the Nominee must sign additional documents, including:
- A declaration of eligibility
- A release of liability and publicity allowing the Sponsor to use their name, likeness, and images of their home for promotional purposes without compensation.
Selection Process:
Nominations will be reviewed to ensure eligibility. Recipients will be chosen based on:
- Financial need and suitability for the furnace installation
- Geographic proximity to Tozer Heating & Air’s service area
- The number of nominations received from unrelated Nominators
- The Nominee’s impact on their community
Recipients will be notified on or around November 4th 2024 on www.tozerheating.com.
Warranties:
Repalcement Equipment will be covered by the manufacturer’s standard limited warranty. Additional components required for the installation, such as a conversion kit or line set, may be included, but ductwork and other modifications are not included.
